Zero vs Copen
Zero (MegaMan) vs Copen (Gunvolt)
(Spirit)
(Mikhael)
(Strunton)
Zero, the first Maverick turned Legendary Reploid.
Copen Kamizono, the Adept Slayer turned Luminous Avenger iX.
The wish of any great scientist is to see their vision take place, their intent seen to the very end and place said dream into the hands of their finest. But what happens when that doesn’t happen? What if the person whom they placed that trust into ended up forging a path for themselves and became a deserter? They would simply need to continue that road right until the very end. To fight for what they believe in is to fight for what’s right. Today we have two saviors of the oppressed, fighting against the might of a higher authority. Now they face each other in a battle to see who is the better of the two. Will Zero need avenging after this or will Copen’s chance at victory be reduced to zero?
Before We Start
For Zero’s side of research, the main Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero games have been utilized. Due to the connection shared among them, the classic Mega Man games and Mega Man ZX games have also been factored into the research. Any accompanying audio dramas, guidebooks and official statements have also been utilized. The Mega Man X manga by Yoshihiro Iwamoto has also been featured as a part of Zero’s research.
On Copen’s end, the Luminous Avenger iX subseries and main Azure Striker Gunvolt games have been featured as part of Copen’s research. Accompanying audio dramas, guidebooks, official statements have also been used as part of Copen’s research. The Blaster Master Zero series has also been used in Copen’s research as there is a connection between the two series, which will be further explained in the “Before the Verdicts” section.
Background
Zero
Dr. Wily has always had plans for world domination but every single attempt of his would be stopped by the hero known as Mega Man. Time and time again, the Blue Bomber would put a stop to Wily’s plans and even when his own version of the hero wasn’t enough, Wily knew it was time to take desperate measures. Building a new robot with power that could blow Mega Man and Bass away, Wily crafted the ultimate robot and sealed him away until the time was right. Many years later, the seal would be released and the robot known as Zero would come into the world.
Despite Wily’s intentions of creating a war machine, Zero very much ended up doing the exact opposite. Zero’s impressive fighting skills would lead to him being a highly respected member of the Maverick Hunters, a group trying their best to stop the maverick attacks being caused throughout the world by former hunter Sigma. Along with X and many other allies, Zero would be one of the most valuable fighters for humanity that the world has seen but he was eventually sealed away once more, where during his time of rest, a cataclysmic war known as the Elf Wars took place which resulted in many more years of conflict. Zero would awaken once more once he was found by a young girl named Ciel, and he would aid her and the Resistance in fighting against the threats of humanity right until the bitter end, leaving a brand new world for Ciel to expand upon. But surprisingly, it would not be over for Zero quite yet as he managed to become Biometal Z, and he would lend this power to Giro before he would soon pass that power onto Vent/Aile, who would go on to continue fighting for the peace that they strived for.
Copen
A century has passed following the death of Gunvolt at the hands of his mentor and foster father Asimov. With the Azure Striker slain, nobody stood in Asimov's way of taking over Sumeragi and proceeding to slowly but surely take over the world. In time, Adepts would become the superior species whereas humans, or “Minos”, would become the minority. Minos were not treated well by the superpowered majority, especially not with Sumeragi pulling strings from the shadows thanks to their advanced technology and elite Adept soldiers, the Falcons.
But among those 100 years of darkness, a single light shined. To many, he was a mystery. To Sumeragi, he was a thorn in their side. To the Minos, he was a sign of trouble. But to a small group of kids led by a positive girl, he was their savior. The Luminous Avenger, iX. Or at least, that's what the stories say.
In truth, Copen Kamizono was a prodigy scientist with a knack for engineering. Ever since he was young, he loathed Adepts for the death of his father and sought to destroy them all. With state of the art equipment built by himself, he fought Adepts for the sole reason of destroying them. Or so he once did. A hundred years can change a man, especially during dark times. Some time after Asimov's takeover of Sumeragi, Copen replaced his body with cybernetics, and alongside his robot assistant and best girl, Lola, Copen fought against Sumeragi for years. After finding a ragtag group of kids, Copen found the means to destroy Sumeragi's top Adept controlling technology, the Butterfly Effect, kill Asimov, and lead humans and Adepts to a brighter, more luminous future.
But there are more adventures to be had, some beyond the boundaries of our dimension. But no matter the opposition, the Luminous Avenger and his Muse of Hope will fight with determination and music.
Skill and Experiences
Zero
Zero was built to be superior to Mega Man and Bass
in every single possible way, and those two have fought
their fair share of robots during their time. In his own
time though, Zero has proven that he’s a valuable asset
to both the Maverick Hunters and Resistance Base.
His skill is unmatched by most other hunters and he’s
seen as a genuine threat by many foes. He is one of the
few Maverick Hunters to reach the highest rank of Special A,
and he’s always laser focused on the job, making sure to
get it done. He’s such a legendary fighter that 100 years after
the X series, his power was sought after by the Resistance
Base’s leader, Ciel. When he awoke, one of the first things he
did was to immediately fight off the enemies of the Resistance
Base and he did it pretty well despite not having been active for
many years. His years spent fighting also gave him a sense of
wisdom, which proved to be helpful to Vent/Aile when ZX rolls
around. Zero is also one tough dude who can fight in a variety
of elemental circumstances such as intense heat, snowlands,
deserts, caverns and so on. Even when affected by special sand
that severely dampened his fighting capabilities, he still pushes on
with his mission, making sure to get it done. And just like his robot
predecessors, he can be quick to find the weakness of an enemy
and will let ‘em have it.
Copen
In his youth, Copen had been trained by his maid Nori in order
to combat Adepts. At the age of 14, he was already capable of
fighting S rank Adepts like Gunvolt and even defeat a fake
Zonda with a sneak attack. In the iX timeline, Copen had been
fighting Sumeragi's evil for over 100 years. This experience
would help him tremendously when dealing with all sorts of
Adepts with a wide arrangement of Septimas. And it proved
to be just as useful in an alternate dimension fighting mysterious
entities called Workers. Needless to say, Copen is a force to be
reckoned with and has not lost his edge even in recent times of
peace. Copen is also a scientific genius, having designed his
own gear to help prepare to fight against the Adepts, and even
managed to develop special bullets that could bypass the
Prevasion capabilities of Gunvolt and is always developing new
tech to help him in his adventures. Copen is also good at finding
the weakness of a foe and using it to dispatch them. He even
developed the EX Weapon Mirror System which allows him to
take the data of the defeated Adept and perfectly utilize their
abilities for himself, which makes him a very versatile fighter.
Safe to say, Copen’s definitely done his homework.
Weapons
Zero
Z-Saber
Zero’s iconic weapon. A green plasma saber that can make
quick work of any enemy with ease. The Z-Saber has
received many upgrades allowing it to reflect attacks,
erase projectiles and be imbued with the power of many elements.
Z-Buster
Another iconic weapon of Zero. Arm cannons(or a gun) that
can appear on either his left or right hand and can fire out
energy shots. He can even charge up these to do even more
damage. The buster shots can also take on different properties
such as having different shot properties or being imbued with
elements.
V-Hanger
A pair of energy daggers. Though the reach of
these is shorter than the Z-Saber, they are much
faster to wield and he can string quick combos
with these. They soon receive an upgrade to fire
out wind blades.
D-Glaive
A very long lance with an energy blade at the end of it.
This weapon allows Zero to attack enemies with a
longer reach and he can twirl it around to deflect enemy
projectiles.
B-Fan
A dual set of energy fans. Though their range is shorter than
that of the Z-Saber, they are capable of deflecting enemy
shots. By standing still, it also creates an energy shield
around Zero that protects him from other projectiles.
It also receives an upgrade so that enemy shots get reflected
back to the sender.
T-Hammer
A big ass hammer with good range and capable of dealing
mighty blows with each swing. It is slower to wield when
compared to his other weapons though.
K-Knuckle
A pair of knuckle weapons that Zero uses to just straight up
box and beat people to death using his hands. With these,
he’s also capable of performing some Street Fighter moves
Sigma Blade
A giant blade that boats huge attack power and can break
enemy barriers with ease. It also has the effect of cutting
all weapon ammo by half, making it a very useful tool to have.
Doubletooth
A double bladed saber that has high potential of scoring a
critical hit on enemies.
Red Lotus Saber
A flaming blade that uses a ton of Zero’s power to unleash
devastating flame attacks. The power is immense but it
also severely dampens Zero’s defenses as a result of the
intense power boost.
Soul Saber
A metallic blade that grows in power the more damage Zero has
taken.
Rei Ichimonji
A saber that is an upgraded version of the Z-Ichimonji and
stolen from Redips. It is not as strong but it does possess
the capabilities of piercing past armor.
Z-Rapier
A rapier that offers high speed attacking at the cost of lower
defenses.
Triple Rod
A lance with a pointed energy tip at its end. It’s good at
stabbing enemies but Zero can also extend its reach
and bounce off of enemies like a pogo stick with it.
He can even spin it around very quickly.
Shield Boomerang
An energy shield that blocks incoming attacks.
It can also be thrown like a boomerang.
Chain Rod
An energy chain with a blade tip at the end. This allows Zero
to attack from a distance. The tip can latch onto surfaces,
allowing for Zero to swing across gaps or pull himself across.
It can also pull in enemies and objects towards him. By charging
it up, he can also spin it around like the Triple Rod.
Recoil Rod
A pair of energy tonfas that can be used to stab enemies.
When charged, it’s capable of blowing objects and enemies
away with its force. Zero can also use the charge to launch
himself upwards.
Z-Knuckle
Zero socks enemies with his fists and can disarm them of
their weapon, allowing him to use it. If he gets tired of said
weapon or it runs out of ammo, he can throw it at some
poor sap for damage.
Sub Tanks
Containers that store energy. By using them, Zero can
replenish his health back.Unlike E-Tanks from the
Classic series, Sub Tanks are reusable and energy gained
is stored into these tanks while Zero is in top shape. Zero
can hold up to 4 of these.
Weapon Sub Tank
Similar to the regular Sub Tank but for Weapon energy instead.
Zero can only hold 1 of these.
Spare Bodies
A little life insurance never hurt anyone. As the name
suggests, these are spare bodies that Zero can use to
immediately return to his location if he falls in battle.
Cyber-Elves
Sentient programs that are the byproduct of war. Cyber-Elves
can support Zero in many ways and they are separated into
3 categories. Nurse elves focus on healing Zero or providing
more health. Hacker elves focus on disrupting the enemy by
inflicting damage or other disruptive means. Animal elves
provide support by enhancing Zero’s capabilities or supplying
back up. Once a Cyber-Elf uses their ability, Zero retains the
effect permanently but the Elf dies. Alternatively, Zero can
equip the Elves as Satellites, which allows them to keep the
Elf alive while using their effects as well.
Croire
This special Cyber-Elf warrants its own description.
A special kind of Cyber-Elf that can harness the powers
of multiple Cyber-Elves all at once. This includes abilities
from Nurse, Hacker and Animal Elves. It can increase Zero’s
stats, let him move faster, drop health pickups and attack
with fire, ice or lightning.
Parts/Chips
Enhancements that Zero can equip to bolster his capabilities.
They all have a variety of effects of what they can do to
benefit Zero.
Copen
EX Gear
A bulky shield used by Copen back in his youth, and
his original method of fighting Adepts. Each side of
the shield housed longbow shaped cannons which
could fire the Septimas of defeated Adepts, namely
those defeated by Gunvolt. These cannons could be
destroyed if damaged too severely, which is what
Asimov did. It could also be used as a regular shield
for defense and shield bashes. It was destroyed by
Asimov following Copen's final battle with Gunvolt.
White Tiger Jacket
Copen's new and improved battle gear designed for a whole
new combat style. This armor houses a jetpack which grants
Copen flight and boots which let him hover in the air indefinitely.
It utilizes stored electrical energy in bullet shaped cases within
itself called “Bullits.” They allow Copen to propel himself with
his jetpack in a maneuver called “Bullit Dashing.”
Divider
Copen's new gun after his original one got stolen by Asimov.
As opposed to the Border which fired bullets,
the Divider instead fires photon lasers. Because it's an
all purpose tool, it only has two modes. Its most notable traits
are the light markings on the bottom part of the barrel.
During a Bullit Dash, Copen can slam the bottom of the
Divider on a foe, “tagging” them for a limited time.
Upon tagging an enemy, the Divider's lasers will lock on them,
bending and changing direction to land on the target even if
the weapon isn't aimed in their general direction.
Other properties of this also allow Copen to go through
defenses such as shields and certain energy barriers.
Razor Wheel
Copen's latest weapon which he created from the remains
from Roddy's Blaster Rifle. It possesses tremendous
cutting power, enough to slice robots clean in half.
It's also surprisingly versatile, as it changes properties
depending on whether he's in Break-Shift form or
Bullit-Shift form. In Break-Shift form, it manifests as
a saw blade with which Copen can unleash a devastating
three strike combo and can even fire the saw on the
third hit using a technique called the “Boomerazor.”
In Bullit-Shift form, it acts somewhat similarly to the Divider,
tagging foes and firing chakrams of energy that lock in on
them after tagging them.
Subroutines
Equipment that Copen can install in his White Tiger Jacket.
These subroutines offer Copen additional small boons to
his abilities to assist him in battle. Overdrive (OD)
subroutines are notably powerful, but they require Copen
to be in Overdrive to use them. Unlike in GV2, Copen does
not need to worry about too many subroutines equipped
causing his equipment to bug, however the cost to use
them becomes “crazy high” according to Lola.

Item Magnet: Energia Cores (EC) from defeated foes are drawn to Copen.
Extra Prices: Grants Copen extra EC after beating a level.
Hyper Guard: Reduces any damage Copen would take to 1 so long as he stands still on the ground.
Recovery Supporter: Increases invincibility frames after taking damage.
Grounded Marking: Copen can tag enemies on the ground for homing shots.

Parallel Blaster Rifle: The Razor Wheel becomes purple and does more damage when not locked onto foes
Sealing Talisman: Lock-on Razor Wheel bullets will not kill the foe but it can still be used to gather up Kudos.
Limit Break: Increases Razor Wheel's attack power while in Overdrive. All Kudos are lost upon taking damage.
Infinity Trigger: EX Weapons do not consume energy while in Overdrive.
ApeX Drive: Increases Colossal Maelstrom's power while in Overdrive.
Medley: Swaps the song every 1000 Kudos.
Lola
Copen's greatest creation. A human-like, self teaching
artificial intelligence with independent thought, personality,
emotions and potentially even the capacity to dream
created by Copen to assist him in battle. Like Copen's
old EX Gear, Lola houses the EX Weapon Mirroring
System and as such plays a huge role in helping Copen
manage his EX Weapons. She does this by managing
little drones called “P-Bits” which float around Copen at
all times, changing their formation and by extension EX
Weapon depending on the situation. If she were to be
taken out of the fight, Copen would have to manage
them manually.
She's also a huge fan of Jaws and has a great singing voice,
but it's not like that has any impact on this debate…Hint hint.

Sky Chaser
Contrary to its name, this is a downward stab technique that Zero uses mid-air to plummet downwards to the ground to stab enemies. The impact also kicks up some rubble that can do extra damage.
Copen
EX Weapon Mirroring System
A system created by Copen which allows him to copy the
Septimas of Adepts. Unlike other video game characters
who follow this premise, Copen does not need to kill an Adept
to copy their Septima, such as when he copied the Septima
of a fake Zonda or when he copied Blade's Berserk Trigger
despite not even beating her. The Septimas he copies are
not as potent as the original, nor can he use them to their full
potential, but they nevertheless increase Copen's versatility
in a fight. Upon landing in another world, Copen updated his
system to allow him to copy the abilities of the Workers despite
them not wielding traditional Septima abilities at the cost of
losing most of his EX Weapons from the first game. However,
for this blog, we shall grant him every EX Weapon he has
acquired throughout GV1 and the iX timeline.
Arrogant Radiance (Arrogant Fang): Derived from
Jota. With it, Copen fires a laser and follows by firing
a swirling lance.
Blazing Bombers (Blazing Ballista): Derived from
Viper. Copen fires an arrow of fire that leaves behind
three lingering explosions in its path.
Flesh Eater (Million Eater): Derived from Stratos.
Copen fires a swarm of energy shaped like insects.
Gorgon Gaze (Jealousic Gorgon): Derived from Elise.
Copen fires a ray of light that turns whoever looks at it to
stone. Once petrified, the target is also severely weakened
and takes more damage than usual.
Lazy Laser: Derived from Merak. Copen fires a laser
into a wormhole that will reappear in different areas
and at different angles via other wormholes.
Doppler Desire (Lust Doppler): Derived from a fake
Zonda. Copen summons four doppelganger
apparitions to surround him before charging forward
in a tackle. The doppelgangers can be destroyed
beforehand, severely hampering the move's offensive
power.
Stellar Spark: In the original timeline, it was derived
from analyzing Asimov's blood on his gun. Though
it is unclear how Copen acquired it in the iX timeline,
it functions the exact same. It fires beams of electricity
as a long range attack. If Copen tags an enemy,
the bits surround them in a triangular formation before
focusing the lightning on them.
Anchor Nexus: Derived from Rebellio. Copen first
wraps the enemy in red string and then attacks with
a powerful red drill. He can also pull the enemy away
with a Bullit Dash. The bits and the drill can bypass
vector manipulation, as they can ignore Dystnine's
Vector Cloth which allows him to deflect attacks.
Photon Detonator: Derived from Crimm. Copen fires
one to three orbs of energy which detonate on contact,
unleashing massive damage.
Orbital Edge: Derived from Stella. Copen deploys two
density bladed discs which orbit around him.
Shrouded Spear: Derived from Dystnine. Copen fires
long ranged cloth projectiles that will ensnare anyone
who gets caught in them, even bosses. However,
notably stronger foes such as Demerzel can ignore this,
simply taking damage instead.
Muse's Kiss: Derived from Isola. Copen fires energy
projectiles shaped like Lola. Charging them will instead
make them take the shape of the muse and grant them
piercing properties. This can be fired rapidly.
Rising Cyclone: Derived from Bakto. Copen creates a
tornado of spiral energy from above or below him. It
can be used offensively or to give Copen a boosted
midair jump.
Whirling Chopper: Derived from Vespa. Copen
unleashes homing propellers.
Doomsday Charge: Derived from Dacite. Copen
unleashes a lasting fireball that can be charged up
to do more damage.
Cryo-Flash: Derived from Hail. Copen slows down the
flow of time, allowing him to outpace his opponents
and maintain offensive pressure while Cryo-Flash itself
does constant damage while active. When tagged on a
foe, Copen can stop time for them altogether, rendering
them helpless.
Gatling Blitz: Derived from Brigade. Copen unleashes
a minigun with devastating firepower and deals
atrocious amounts of damage which can whittle down
even the sturdiest of foes. It locks on tagged foes.
Rolling Ripper: Derived from Ace. Copen fires a rapid
series of boomerangs in an orbital pattern. If used on a
tagged enemy, the boomerangs instead go straight for
the target, rapidly striking in a relentless assault after the
first hit.
Optic Barrier: Derived from Autochrome. It fires lasers
in cardinal directions, which can be alternated between
horizontal, vertical and diagonal while also producing a
barrier. These lasers will instantly home in on a tagged
enemy.
Bullit Dash
Copen's main method of movement and combat. When he
collides with an object or person, he rebounds off of it as the
White Tiger Jacket stores the kinetic energy and turns it into
a Bullit for Copen. With proper self awareness of his surroundings,
Copen could theoretically do this indefinitely without running out of
Bullits. Though if he were to run out, he can always Reload by
returning to the ground. According to Copen, Bullit Dashing is
not safe for a normal human to do.
Prevasion
Arguably the most powerful defensive ability in the series
and one unique to those who can harness the power of
an Azure Striker. Prevasion is an ability that can make the
user “turn into electricity”, or electrons to be more precise,
to avoid damage. This allows Copen to phase through
virtually any attack that comes his way. Unlike most other
abilities at Copen's disposal, Prevasion is passive, thus
sparing him from further multitasking. In the original timeline,
this ability could only be pierced by specific abilities such as
Septimas that also affect electrons such as the electricity of an
Azure Striker or Teseo's Hack The World, or abilities that can
shut down Septima abilities like the Greed Snatcher. However,
in this timeline Copen's Prevasion is notably weaker as now
any electricity based attack is able to pierce it, not just that of
an Azure Striker. It is also not infinite, as it costs two Bullits
when used as opposed to the original timeline where it cost one.
Without sufficient Bullits, Prevasion will not activate.
Reloading
As established before, Copen does not have an infinite supply
of Bullits. He can only have a set number at a time, and each
Bullit Dash that doesn't have him collide with something or
Prevasion activation will deplete them. However, Copen can
reload his Bullits by touching the ground and entering a stance.
By attempting this in midair, he will execute a maneuver called
the Reload Crash where he crashes onto the ground and deals
damage to nearby foes as he reloads. Combining Reloading
with Prevasion can virtually make him, in Lola's words:
“basically invincible.”
Flashfield
Another defensive technique derived from an Azure Striker.
It's a barrier that automatically protects Copen from physical
projectiles barring some weird exceptions like machine gun rounds.
Unlike Gunvolt or Asimov, however, Copen cannot use it for
offensive purposes. It also will not activate if his EX Weapon
Gauge is not full.
Anthem
Another extremely powerful defensive ability unique to the
series. Should Copen find himself on the brink of defeat,
Lola can sing a song that will bring Copen back to full strength.
While Anthem is activated, Copen gets unlimited Bullits,
meaning he can Bullit Dash infinitely and has unlimited
access to Prevasion. Anthem has performed some very
powerful feats in the main timeline, such as reviving Gunvolt
from having his time and soul conceptually shattered, or
saving Kirin from being erased from existence. However,
Lola's Anthem in this timeline seems to be notably weaker
due to unknown reasons, as she could not restore Copen
to fighting shape when he was severely damaged by Asimov.
Overdrive
A technique that is activated when Copen obtains a thousand
Kudos. Lola enters her diva mode and sings, enveloping
Copen in aura similar to Anthem. It allows Copen to utilize
OD specific subroutines to assist him in battle. It wears off
should the Kudo meter be depleted.
Twin Shredder
One of Copen's strongest attacks. Copen, Lola and the P-Bits
fly around at high speeds, slashing everything in the vicinity.
With optional upgrades like Regenerator, Copen can heal
himself to full health after utilizing it.
CoLoSSaL Maelstrom
Another variation of Twin Shredder. This time, however,
Lola enters her Darkness Trigger form for the attack.
Healing
A healing mode designed for Lola. With this, she can heal
Copen back to full health at any point for no cost and as
many times as Copen needs.
Forms
Zero
Black Zero
A boost to Zero’s fighting capabilities. With this mode,
Zero gains increased attack power, damage received
is cut in half and he has more opportunities to use his
special weapons as it adds 50% to the capacity.
It also boosts his dashing speed and distance and
can erase enemy projectiles by swinging at them.
Absolute Zero
Another form for Zero. This form doubles his damage output
and boosts all other stats and he can tear through shields
with ease. Instead of using a weapon, Zero now uses his
claws to tear enemies apart with various damage strikes and
he can even freeze them with his attacks. The only downside
is that this form only lasts for a limited time.
Junk Armor
A risky set of Armor that Zero can equip. In order to take
advantage of it, he must have all of Croire’s effects disabled
but in return all of his attacks do double damage.
This also comes with the caveat that Zero will take double
damage
Copen
Break-Shift Form
The Break-Shift form is designed to make full use of Copen's
new weapon, the Razor Wheel. It is a power over mobility
focused form intended for close range combat. With this
form comes the Recoil Dash, a powerful tackle that replaces
his grounded dash from previous gear, this time sending
enemies flying back several meters and
shoving massive obstacles in its wake. The Recoil Dash
is also capable of disarming opponents. It is drastically
tougher than Copen's previous gear, making him
a physically tough combatant. In most cases,
it is his standard combat form on the ground,
only switching to Bullit-Shift Form to perform a
Bullit Dash. He can still tag foes in this state via a
technique called Grounded Marking.
Bullit-Shift Form
Similar in functionality and appearance to his
"White Tiger Jacket", the Bullit-Shift form functions
exactly like his old equipment which utilizes Bullit
Dashes and hovering abilities, thus becoming
drastically faster than Break-Shift form.
Bullit Dashes are extremely fast aerial boosts in a
certain direction, and utilize kinetic energy to
bounce off of surroundings to maneuver around a
foe or attack them from a unique angle. However,
a significant difference is that Copen is now limited
to just one Bullit Dash due to reallocating resources
to the Break-Shift Form, automatically reloading
when he lands on the ground. However,
this comes at the cost of vulnerability, and as
such Copen has programmed his gear in
such a way so that it transforms into
Break-Shift form just before he is hit,
sending him plummeting to the ground.
Idol Mode
Lola’s actual form that she obtained from analyzing the
“Muse” Septima. When she enters this state, all of
Copen’s abilities are enhanced, effectively putting him
into an Overdrive state, and allows for any OD
Subroutines to kick in.
Darkness Trigger
Lola's new form exclusive to the Luminous Avenger iX timeline
taken from Blade's Berserk Trigger, upgrading all of Copen's
EX Skills and using them automatically on enemies, giving
him an infinite amount of EX Weapon Energy to utilize.
However, the drawback of this is that it slowly drains
Copen's health if he doesn't have an enemy actively tagged,
but can't kill him.

Scaling
Zero
Classic Era
Zero was built to be superior to Mega Man and Bass in every
conceivable way. Zero is also equal to X, another Reploid
built to be superior to his Classic predecessor and
everything in Classic Era, so it’s safe to assume that Zero can
be upscaled quite heftily from all of the best feats from the
Classic Mega Man era (by around 1920x in AP and 2560x
in speed according to this doc):
Duo and Evil Robot:
( 633 petatons of TNT - 975.685 yottatons of TNT )
can be this high. (83.813 zettatons of TNT)
uncharted planets. (375.656 millions c)
Mega Man can defeat the Skull Blazer whose:
Jaw can have this much kinetic energy.
Various feats from Robot Masters and lesser enemies
such as:
are gravitationally attracted to one another.
Bilibri and Bilibary can cause a world-wide
power outage. (665.67 tons of TNT)
Mega Man X
The two are always portrayed as equals many times throughout
the series and have fought many of the same threats. Even
beyond the X era, the two are still portrayed to be equal in
the ZX era (As Biometals X and Z respectively), thus we can
scale Zero to all things that X can do.
X can generate black holes with his X-Buster:
lightspeed attacks. (0.06215 FOE)
Squeeze Bomb can move in-tandem with
orbital lasers. (1.0167 FOE)
an atmosphere’s worth of Zero Virus.
Sigma and Other Mavericks
A former top-notch Maverick Hunter, Sigma has always stood
in opposition against Zero and has always been the final battle
against them many times before. Likewise, the massive amount
of enemy Mavericks that Zero has defeated before and
consistently being a thorn in Sigma's plan means that we can
compare him to the baddies of the series.

The Zero Virus created Zero Space with its data

The Zero Virus’s data manipulation is >
Sigma’s data manipulation, and
Sigma could manipulate the entire X4 Cyber
Space’s program, thus opening up the
possibility of Zero Space being >= X4
Cyber Space. (At least Multi-Galaxy level,
likely Universe level, Debatable See before verdict)
Four Guardians
A small group of high class Reploids all based on X’s combat
capabilities and possess his DNA. The Guardians have all
thrown down with Zero a handful of times and he’s bested all
of them. Harpuia, Fefnir and Leviathan are also all present
with Zero in the final battle against Omega and they all sacrifice
themselves. Later on, all four of them are brought back as
Biometals(H, F, L and P) and used by various users in ZX. With
this, we should reasonably scale Zero to all of the Four Guardians.
Omega should be superior to:
create a negative energy field equivalent to a
microscopic black hole. (14.463 ronnatons of
TNT)
cannon that would destroy Area Zero.
(2.543 gigatons of TNT - 1.377 teratons of
TNT)
be superior to all other plans such as destroying
an entire tectonic plate. (2.844 petatons of TNT)
which can affect an entire orbital elevator.
ZX Era
While not physically there for the most part, Zero has actually
lived on as Biometal Z in the ZX era and has consistently lent
his power to the likes of Giro and Vent/Aile. All of the
Biometals are based on a past Reploid and they possess
recollection of their memories so we can scale Zero to feats
of the ZX era
Copen
Gunvolt and other Azure Strikers
Gunvolt is his rival. The two have fought each other in the past
before on equal footing and defeated many similar enemies in
another timeline. In the iX timeline, Copen even goes on to fight
Blade to a stalemate and fight Demerzel who uses the same
Septima as Gunvolt does since Asimov (Demerzel’s real identity)
killed him in that timeline. While Copen isn’t anywhere to be seen
during the events as ASG3, we can still compare the two from
their encounters in the events of ASG1 and 2 due to nothing
suggesting a massive power increase between both entries.
The Azure Striker allows the user to manipulate and
Both Gunvolt and Asimov have reacted to lasers and
other projectiles of light.
Gunvolt defeated Tenjian on two separate occasions,
who could flash freeze entire cities.
Gunvolt defeated Nova despite Copen's data suggesting
the opposite outcome.
Asimov could fight on par with an Anthem-amped
bloodlusted Gunvolt in the original timeline.
Blade could move as a lightning bolt.
Other Adepts
Copen has defeated many Adepts in his career and he was
even regarded as the “Adept Slayer” for good reason.Having
defeated many Adepts before, it’s no surprise that he should
be comparable to the lot of them. Being able to fight S rank
Adepts like Gunvolt means he should scale to lesser Adepts
regardless.
Jota’s Septima is called “Lightspeed”. Self explanatory.
Viper was stated by Jota to fight at the speed of light.
Gibril was also stated to fight at light speed by Jota.
Ghauri could move in tandem with laser shots.
Tenjian could flash freeze whole cities.
(690 megatons of TNT)[nice]
Kirin
Copen fights a Kirin after the events of Gunvolt 3, and he
manages to beat her. Parallel worlds are confirmed to exist
in the world of Gunvolt and there is a split between the main
ASG universe where Kirin comes from and the iX universe
that Copen resides in. Copen should be able to scale to Kirin’s
current power.
Kirin defeats Shiron, whose “Overclock” Septima can
perform calculations at light speed.
Kirin defeats Apollo, who backflips so quickly that
Shiron's “Overclock” Septima believed there were
three of him.
Kirin defeats Zed, who can create a mini sun using
nuclear fusion. (384 teratons of TNT)
Kirin defeats Grazie, who created the Sunrise Palace.
Kirin defeats a berserk Primal Dragon Gunvolt who is
capable of destroying the world. (646 petatons of TNT)
traveling as photons. (10.74c)
Jason Frudnick (Debatable)
The hero from the Blaster Master Zero series. During the
events of Luminous Avenger iX2, Copen speaks about
how he obtained a special kind of weapon called the
Blaster Rifle and he uses it throughout the adventure
after making modifications. When he fights Jason, the
Blaster Master reveals that the rifle he has is
the same one Eve found on Area Ω. Jason also goes on
to explain that the modifications to his own gear was also
based on some of Copen’s as well. The two then fight and
Copen comes out as the winner. With all of this mind, we
can reasonably scale Copen to Jason.

Resistances
Zero
Many of his resistances can be scaled to him via him being
logically superior to Classic Era characters and still being
around as a Biometal in the ZX Era:
Below Absolute Zero and Matter Manipulation (Atomic):
Tundra Man’s Tundra Storm weapon reaches temperatures
of absolute zero. Blizzard Buffalo can operate at Absolute
Zero temperature, and Frost Walrus can freeze him.
Zero can withstand Blizzack Stagroff’s extremely potent
ultra-low temperature air which can reduce all matter to
Spatial Manipulation: Cut Man’s Rolling Cutter can cut
through space. The Wily Star’s ion cannon also distorts
Transmutation: Rock is unaffected by Mine Change and
can break free from Shade Man’s petrification.
Extreme Heat: Heat Man has temperatures of
Corrosion: Acid Man’s acid can corrode other material.
Technology Manipulation: Shadow Man’s Shadow
Blade deranges technology due to the coating it has.
In addition to those listed above, Zero has shown
other resistances of his own
(Either as his normal self or as Biometal Z):
Time Stop: Is unaffected by X’s Dark Hold. Dark Hold
is also superior to Flash Man’s Time Stopper.
Power Nullification: The Sigma Virus could not
Hacking: The Sigma Virus also could not hack Zero.
Should also be superior to the electronic pulse that
Rock survived that affected other robots.
Matter Manipulation: Survived getting hit by the particle
cannon from Heat Genblem’s stage.
Petrification: Can break free from Popla Cocapetri’s
petrification abilities which should be superior to
Black Holes: Can go in and out of the Squeeze Bomb.
Soul Manipulation and Possession: The Nightmare
Virus couldn’t affect him, which affects the DNA program of a Reploid which is their soul.
Mind Manipulation: The Dark Elf could not affect
Sealing: Is unaffected by Crystal Hunter.
Molecular Manipulation: Vulturon the Condoroid’s
sound waves destroy the molecular structure of the target.
Copen
Because Copen’s armor was made to be resistant to studied
Septima powers, he should be able to resist the following:
Hacking and Transmutation (Debatable for iX):
Teseo’s “Hack The World” Septima
converts things into data. It could not affect Copen in
GV2, though it's unclear if they met in Luminous
Avenger iX.
Below Absolute Zero and Matter Manipulation
(Molecular): Tenjian’s ice is stated to be below
absolute zero and can shatter molecular structures
upon mere contact. Copen fought Mother Computer
who used a similar ability.
Organic Manipulation: Stratos’ “The Fly”
decomposes anything it touches.
Petrification: Elise’s “Gorgon Gaze” turns
people to stone and Copen can break free from it.
Metallic Manipulation (Debatable for iX):
Gibril’s “Metallon” Septima was used in a
similar fashion by Mother Computer, and
Copen was unaffected.
Technology Manipulation (Debatable for iX)
: Milas’ “Ichor” Septima can disable technology.
It was not able to affect Copen in GV2, though it's
unclear if they met in Luminous Avenger iX.
Spatial Manipulation and Existence Erasure:
Jota’s “Zero Blade” tears through space and also
attacks reality. Copen can survive it.
Extreme Heat: Can survive attacks from Dacite,
who can turn his flames blue
(about 1400-1600 degrees Celsius).
Weaknesses
Zero
Zero has died. A lot. That alone should tell you that even
Wily's magnum opus has limits. While he has no obvious
physical weaknesses to exploit, Zero has lost fights before,
namely to fellow Reploids X and Sigma. He may not be foolish,
but he is more prone to dealing with situations on the fly as
opposed to long term strategy. As he is powered by sunlight,
fighting in darker or shaded areas will limit his ability to
replenish energy. Speaking of which, while he isn't as reliant on
weapon energy as X, he still carries a finite supply so he must
be smart of which techniques to use in a fight. And although
he does have virtually infinite stamina, enough damage over time
will dampen his combat capabilities as shown during MMZ2.
Copen
Copen has more than proven his worth as a hero in this
timeline, but he is not infallible. He has been pushed into
a corner on more than one occasion, and it's usually taken
him outside interference to get out of them, such as his
encounters with Blade and Demerzel. His EX Weapons
cannot be used infinitely and run on a power source, and
thus has to wait for them to recharge. He also can't have every
subroutine equipped at once, as the cost is too high. Side note
on his equipment, should Lola be taken down, Copen would
need to manage his P-Bits by himself. His Prevasion is also
nowhere near as powerful as it would be in the main timeline,
as not only does it use up two Bullits instead of one, but it can
be pierced by any electric attack, not just that of an Azure Striker's
. And while Lola's Anthem is a game changer, it can only be used
once per mission, so if he were to be taken down again, it would
be game over. Speaking of Anthem, it might also be weaker than
that of the original timeline's versions for unknown reasons, as Lola
could not bring back Copen from the brink of death despite his worst
injuries being electrocution and a damaged camera eye.
Before the Verdict
Is the crossover with Blaster Master Zero really
canon?
Very likely by far the part most people have questions about.
Both the Azure Striker Gunvolt and Blaster Master Zero
series are two series that have never officially interacted with
one another until the iX2 DLC confirms that the two worlds are
connected. So first we have to ask the simple question.
Is it canon?
Short answer, yes. The DLC reveals that the modified Blaster
Rifle that Copen wields comes from Jason’s universe and
even adds some extra context such as where Jason got
the idea for his suit upgrades. With this in mind, we now
have to move onto the next question.
Is Jason holding back in the fight?
Now technically speaking, you can argue there is some merit.
Jason isn’t using his full arsenal that he should have at this
point. And even though he is using the Accel Charger, you can’t
actually prove if he’s using it as a power boost like in Zero 2 or
as simple life support like in Zero 3. And depending on certain
interpretations of what he means by testing him, you could make
that argument. Similarly, this test can also be interpreted as him
going all out since he does wish to prove if Copen is as good as
they say. Jason even uses his Elemental Blaster against him,
which is an attack that uses a bunch of his own energy in Zero 3,
though this is not the case in the iX2 fight. Eve even has to tag in
and assist Jason by healing him up and providing a shield for him
as well, which isn’t something you’d do if one was just trying to
hold back. While you could argue it, we believe that this argument
doesn’t quite stand up, especially when considering 2 of his
strongest moves are being used here.
Is this an outlier?
Another argument that does have some merit. The Azure
Striker Gunvolt franchise obviously does not show this level
of power throughout its run before this fight. To further
incentivize this idea, the next entry in the series, Azure
Striker Gunvolt 3, treats Gunvolt's rampaging power
destroying the world as a very big deal. And while Moebius’
Astral Order does have cosmic levels of absurdity, it's clearly
a hax based ability and not one that directly connects to his stats,
as Moebius views Gunvolt as a threat. This is a big plot point in
GV3, and the big reason Moebius possesses Gunvolt in the first place.
Other information regarding the fight
With regards to the fight there are some things of note.
One of these is you can’t prove how Copen is able to
hurt him. Zero 3’s ending makes it clear that Jason’s new
physiology means he cannot interact with normal space,
given that he cannot even hold his own children and nothing
suggests anything from the ASG verse can interact with
something like that. Ultimately, while it is something you could
try to argue against, we believe that it isn’t enough of a dent to
the point that the scaling is unusable, especially if you were to
consider that Jason is resorting to using the big guns for his fight.
Universal (or above) Mega Man?
Something that has always been a thing when debating Mega
Man stats are claims of Universal Attack Potency for the Mega
Man series. Claims for all of the sub-series exist like EXE
recreating the Cyberworld, the Black Hole Server being the size
of one, Omega creating Cyberspace, Geo and Zero scaling to
Hub, etc. For this blog, the arguments for the Robot Timeline,
particularly Classic and X/Zero series, will be discussed.
Classic Mega Man
For Classic Mega Man, there are a couple of arguments that
came up to argue this level of AP for Rock, which would
cause X and Zero to upscale. The most notable one in
particular is Astro Man where he can create alternate
dimensions. This is stated in both the Robot Masters
Field Guide and even hinted at in the Mega Man & Bass CD
database with additional mentions of him having
spatial manipulation. Meaning that, yes, he can create
dimensions. And given what the dimension looks like here
and what’s stated in the CD database, the dimensions are
argued to be the size of a universe. Ergo, Universal Mega Man.
However, there are problems with this argument. While it is
true that dimension creation is involved with Astro Man,
it should be noted that the kanji of the CD database, the
Rockman 10 Years History book, and the Mega Man 8 Manga
implies that the celestial bodies in this dimension are not real
despite seeming like they’re real, and even go so far as to
question the nature of the dimension itself (the CD database
and Rockman 10 Years History book use kanji such as uses
疑似的 which means “pseudo”, “simulated” or “artificial” and 疑似
which means “pseudo”, “mock”, “sham”, etc). This would make
sense when you consider that Rock literally stands on top of
what appears to be empty space in his boss fight. So the
genuineness of these dimensions being cosmic in scope is
very dubious.
In addition, if it were legit, it would also be a colossal outlier
for Rock given the massive jump in power would make Duo
and Evil Robot’s clash a glaring anti-feat. Why you might ask?
Well, consider that Duo alone is implied to be stronger than
Mega Man and Bass even if comparable in strength, and that
feat left him and Evil Robot in such a damaged state that
crashing from re-entry left them in a state that they needed to be
repaired. One could mention how the fact that they’ve been
fighting for awhile before means that their upper limits of AP/Dura
could be higher due to being worn down when they did the feat,
but that’d be relying on making assumptions that can’t be proven
which one can’t just do to justify the colossal jump in power.
The other thing that could be used to justify Uni Classic Mega Man
is Ra Moon stating that humanity’s machines will bring ruin to the
Universe. Due to the lack of additional context for this claim,
this is already a vague statement to use as support as we don’t even
know how they’re gonna bring ruin to the Universe.
Not to mention that the surrounding context of the scene points to it
being blatantly over time, making this really weak support in general.
All in all, we do not agree at all with Classic Mega Man being
Universal at all, as we believe the arguments for it are weak.
Mega Man X/Zero
The arguments for reaching this level are different and in some
ways have more meat to them, though they’re sadly not 100%
concrete feat-wise and scaling-wise. At best, we see some of
the arguments but think they are debatable, and at worst,
we think they’re too weak.
To give an example of an argument thrown around is arguing
the Mega Man Zero 3 Trade Mechanic being canon.
The basis of this argument is that because Zero thinks the
Teleporter Circuit looks like the MMZ3!Cyberspace, despite it
being stated to resemble the BN Cyberworld here, that the
MMZ3!Cyberspace resembles the BN Cyberworld especially
since the trade mechanic is stated to rewrite Cyberspace, and
as a result the trading did indeed happen canonically.
At first glance, this might seem reasonable. However, there
seems to be a couple of discrepancies: that being the clashing
time periods between the parties involved and that BN and Zero
are technically in different universes. BN takes place in the 21st
century and Zero in the 23rd century, 2 centuries apart. With the
2 time periods’ time difference and the fact it’s in 2 different
universes, it doesn’t make sense for this to be canon unless the
BN!Cyberworld and the MMZ3!Cyberspace to be one in the same
(which we don’t since their lores are notably different).
Speaking of MMZ3!Cyberspace, the creation of it is another
argument for them reaching Universal levels of powers. It is
consistently stated that Omega created a dimensional rift/spatial
distortion called Cyberspace. However, an official magazine
published by Capcom reiterates that the distortions are simply
the doors you find across the levels. What's more, Phantom
(who you can find in MMZ3 in Cyberspace) states that
“the door to Cyberspace was opened by Omega”,
further disproving the idea that Omega created Cyberspace.
This would unfortunately disprove the idea of MSS-Universal
Mega Man through this feat.
Another argument that has been flying around is arguing Cyber
Peacock was going to destroy the X4!Cyberspace based on a
small blurb here. On its own, this is another weak argument as
wanting to destroy something does not mean you can destroy
said something. However, this argument can be salvageable
if you use the Rockman X4 manga where Cyber Peacock is
shown to have an attack that can actually destroy it.
This means that there is a likely legit argument to be had for
this level of power being displayed. However, scaling to this is
weird given that this is a suicide attack that was going to kill Zero
if it fully engulfed him. As such, we deem the Cyber Peacock
destruction to be one of the more legit arguments for cosmic
AP Mega Man X, but unfortunately not easily scalable. Granted,
you could argue that what was actually going to kill Zero was
the destruction of his data, but the argument for scaling is still
somewhat flimsy.
However, there is one more argument that can be made for this
level of power that is more understandable and a little more scalable:
the creation of Zero Space. Zero Space is an alternate dimension that
was created by the Zero Virus, which Zero is amped by as Awakened Zero.
Unfortunately, there are no direct statements of this space for its size.
With that said, a possible argument could be made for its size.
Given the Zero Virus’ data manipulation is implied to be > Sigma Virus’
by X5’s plot, which could on its own modify the entire X4!Cyberspace to
create Cyber Peacock and give it its self-destruction which can destroy it,
one could make the argument that the Zero Space dimension generated is
larger than the X4!Cyberspace, especially when considering 1 strand of the
Sigma Virus did its feats while an atmosphere’s worth of Zero Virus created
Zero Space. At this point, the only thing debatable would be the size of
X4!Cyberspace which depends if one were to believe the X4!Cyberspace to
be the same as the other ones in the X-Zero series or not. If you do, then
Zero Space creation is Universal indeed. But if not, then it’s Multi-Galaxy
at most. This does sound like the most convincing of all the feats mentioned,
but do remember that there are still no statements regarding its size
(or even comparisons to other spaces) meaning Zero Space could
possibly be of any other size.
To conclude this part, arguments for Universal Mega Man X do exist,
but most of them are sadly weak with the better ones being
understandable, still being debatable.
Cyber Peacock erasing Cyber Space scaling to speed?
This sounds like a very weird argument to make, but it
certainly can be made. As it can be seen in the scans,
Zero outruns the destruction attack very briefly, and the
only reason it caught up to him is because Zero
wall-jumped which slowed him down. This opens up scaling
to it. Though scaling to the destruction’s speed like this may
be an outlier given that this would imply Zero has enough
travel speed to physically run across the universe which is
just not true.
There is another way for scaling to the speed anyway,
which is scaling it through Iris pulling Zero out of
Cyberspace before the attack fully engulfed him.
This would be far less outlier-y given it’d scale to
reactions only and narratively makes more sense.
So the scaling should check out.
Infinite speed Mega Man?
This is definitely completely out of left field for most of you to
hear this even being a thing, but it’s not for those that have
been closely keeping up with recent time discoveries for the
Mega Man series for a while. For context, TEPPEN is an
official card game made by Capcom that crosses over many
different Capcom IPs with their in-series lore respected and
even lightly built upon. So using this to clarify already canon
implications should be fine. However, one of the cards for Zero
has a statement that says his reactions leave time itself behind,
thus opening the doors to some really high speed arguments,
i.e. infinite or immeasurable if taken at face value.
To be blunt, we do not believe that portion of the statement to
be literal. A lack of concrete supporting feats within the Mega Man
X & Zero games is the biggest reason why we believe this, and
whatever could possibly be used to support it has a far more
reasonable explanation (i.e. interpreting the Nightmare Laser not
moving while Zero swings his sword as just gameplay limitations).
The first part of the statement where his synapses are FTL is
thoroughly supported by canon, which is why that’s taken as literal.
But the latter was written probably to emphasize Zero’s superluminal
speed. Despite us not agreeing with this peculiar feat being Infinite
speed for Zero, it is still something noteworthy to mention due to the
massive jump in tier.
Copen's Hacking Resistance? Cyber Elves vs Teseo?
A point of contemplation throughout this debate is Zero's
Cyber Elves and how they would interact with Copen's gear.
This simple question ended up becoming surprisingly vague
in finding an answer. Throughout GV2, Copen encounters
an Adept named Teseo who's Septima allows him to “hack”
reality, manipulating it to his leisure. This is not unlike Cyber
Elves, who operate in a similar manner. Copen modified his
gear to resist studying Septimas in general. Now, at first glance,
you might look at this and go “Wait, doesn't that mean Copen
resists the Cyber Elves?” And normally, you would be right.
Except for one little problematic detail.
We have no proof iX Copen met Teseo in this timeline.
During the Azure Striker Gunvolt drama CDs, we get told that
Sumeragi has an iron grip on Japan's security, which is made
even tighter by the end of the CD's plot. But the important
thing to note is that the drama CD makes it very clear that
Eden could not enter Japan under normal circumstances.
In fact, they needed an elaborate plan that required hacking
and distracting members of the Sumeragi Seven including
Nova just to sneak Zonda into the country. And GV2 heavily
implies Eden made it through because of the power vacuum
following Nova's death. Now, the problem is that in this timeline,
Asimov was quick to take over Sumeragi and begin his reign of
terror. This means there is no power vacuum for Eden to cross
the world for, and thus little reason to believe Copen would have
met Teseo, let alone study his Septima to resist it. This ultimately
led us to wonder if Copen could resist the hacking Cyber Elves
use. So for the purposes of this blog, we will cover the potential
avenues for both possibilities, and allow you dear readers to
reach your own conclusions.
Pros
The main argument for Copen resisting the hacking is that
his equipment ultimately uses the same premise as his gear
from GV2, meant to resist and counter the Septimas of other
Adepts. It's weird to say that equipment from 100 years into
the future would be inferior to equipment from the present.
On top of that, Copen has fought two villains capable of
hacking, Demerzel and Mother Computer, and neither have
made an attempt at hacking him or his tech. To further support
this idea, Mother Computer uses abilities similar to the copied
Septimas that GV2 Copen can utilize and iX Copen suffers no
repercussions.
Cons
The main thing to keep in mind is that Copen's gear is
designed to resist Septimas he has studied and is aware
of. This is important, because additional information
confirms Copen made these modifications to better fight
Eden in the GV2 timeline. However, Copen likely does not
know about Eden in this timeline. In GV2, Copen did not
know about them before meeting Tenjian, so even if his
gear used the same premise, he likely would not be aware
of the extent of Teseo's hacking in this timeline, since there
is little evidence for them meeting.
But wait, the two villains that Copen fought were capable of
hacking machines, so shouldn't Copen resist hacking through
that? Well…it's not so simple. While Demerzel can hack
electronics, he is not in a proper state of mind due to his brain
becoming electricity. Copen himself says so during their final
confrontation that anyone with common sense would have
deduced that someone surviving for 100 years would be
impossible without cybernetics. So Demerzel lacks the common
sense to try and hack Copen. He doesn't even try, even after
seeing Copen is a cyborg. Mother Computer is in a similar boat.
While she is capable of hacking technology, she does not make
an attempt at hacking Copen's gear and is instead laser focused
on grabbing Kohaku so she can use her to override her
programming and destroy the world. In addition, Mother's copied
abilities are inferior to the originals, so it's unlikely she can replicate
Teseo's hacking abilities as even GV2 Copen couldn't do it when he
replicated it. On top of that, their methods of hacking are different
from Cyber Elves, who manipulate reality.
It should also be noted that the idea of iX Copen's gear being inferior
to GV2 Copen's is not as ridiculous as it sounds, considering there's
direct proof. Not only is iX Copen's Prevasion weaker than it is in the
main timeline, but Lola's Anthem might be as well as it has shown
inferior revival abilities to a weakened Joule from the main timeline for
unknown reasons. Is it really hard to believe his overall gear is inferior
when his two strongest defensive abilities have already shown to be?

Zero
Stats
At first glance, Zero takes stats in the bag, being Large Star
to Solar System level and at least millions to billions of times
the speed of light as opposed to Copen who is Multi
Continental and 10 times the speed of light normally. However,
the tables start flipping with crossover scaling to Jason Frudnick,
which would make Copen universal and millions to billions of
times the speed of light. This would make Copen capable of
potentially matching Zero in speed and one shotting him.
But all is not lost for the Red Reploid of Legend. While you could
argue this scaling as an outlier for Copen, you can also argue
Zero having advantages regardless. His feat from the manga
which has him react to Cyber Peacock's self destruct which
destroyed Cyberspace would make him 5 trillion to
24 quadrillion times the speed of light, far beyond even
Copen's high ends. Iris being able to react fast enough to pull
Zero out of Cyberspace would also make this consistent, and
could even have Zero upscale as Iris is not built for combat.
Not to mention that Copen would only be at least matching
and likely surpassing Classic Era speed with Blaster Master
Zero scaling and if you don’t use the Manga, Zero could still be
faster when considering the large amounts of upscaling
(2560x any Classic Era feat) he would get
up to 20 trillion times the speed of light. With this in mind,
Zero has the capacity to blitz Copen, which not only means
he can get off his hax more reliably, but also safely avoid
Copen's deadliest blows. It is also possible to argue Zero
matching in AP via feats like the previously stated Cyber
Peacock feat or the Zero Virus, which is not only stronger
than the Sigma Virus which is > Cyber Peacock, but also
created a cyber world similar to Cyberspace
called Zero Space which was merging with the real world.
Though admittedly, these arguments are not airtight and can
be argued against. And while arguments against BMZ’s feats
can be made, even we admit to them being nitpicky. Regardless,
at best you can argue Zero matching Copen in stats, and at worst
argue him blitzing. This speed advantage is crucial in what's to come.
Abilities and Arsenal
Both Zero and Copen have many haxes and abilities, but only
a handful of them really matter in this debate. This is because
Zero resists every single ability Copen has, whereas Copen
resists most of Zero's. Keywords being most of. Starting off
with the obvious, the Cyber Elves. There is little evidence for
iX Copen being capable of resisting reality warping hacking
as there is no evidence he met Teseo in this timeline, so his
gear wouldn't be built to accommodate for that. This is
important as it means Zero can hack Copen's gear in a variety
of ways. He can repel his projectiles and turn them into healing
items, or mess with his tech altogether. Even if you argue Copen
resisting Cyber Elves, his Prevasion subroutine could still be
hacked. This is because Gunvolt could hack the Prevasion
subroutine in GV2 despite that version of Copen
(but arguably not this one) having gear that can resist hacking
from a Septima with superior hacking to the Azure Striker.
This is important as it lets Zero reliably hit Copen without needing
to prioritize bypassing Prevasion. He can get past it anyway as
Cyber-Elves’ physiology is electron-based which is the exact same
nature as Prevasion, and Zero has killed the Baby Elves. While
there are arguments for Copen resisting this, Team Zero does not
agree with them due to lack of evidence. It is true Null name drops
Eden, but that does not automatically confirm much considering this
new timeline already has things the iX timeline doesn't have, such
as Workers and an advanced evil Lola with her own independent
combat capabilities so certain aspects in the ASG timeline may not
hold up to be true in the iX one. It's a stretch to say iX Copen shares
resistances with his main counterpart because of something like that.
His next and arguably more reliable advantage lies in his
elemental moves. His heat powers far exceed what Copen
has withstood in the past, which means they have the
capacity to hurt Copen. Heck, even Fire Man from the first
ever Mega Man game can burn and badly hurt the Luminous
Avenger with 7000-8000 degrees Celsius vs. Dacite’s
1400-1600 degrees Celsius at best. And this is not taking
Heat Man and other upscaling into consideration. And then
there's his ice manipulation powers. Despite Copen surviving
ice attacks from Mother Computer, it should be noted that
Zero's is better. How? Simple. Mother's ice attacks are likely
an inferior copy of Tenjian’s Permafrost Septima which,
despite having wacky descriptions, only freezes targets at the
molecular level by removing the elasticity from molecular bonds.
However, Zero's ice weapons are more potent given that the Ice
Chip is obtained from Blizzack Stagroff whose winds manipulate
matter at the atomic level by ‘atomically condensing all matter’.
What does this mean? Well, given how other translations by
both humans and MTLs translate it to ‘condense into atoms’,
it can be interpreted to mean ‘reduce to atoms’ as not only is
the word condense a synonym for reduce, it also lines up with
the official translation. But in the case that ‘atomically
condensing’ means to just compact the atoms together,
it’s still a valid win-con as it’s noted to be so potent it
permanently freezes matter which Copen would not resist
due to this being done via more potent Matter Manipulation
(Atomic scale vs Molecular scale). So at best for Zero,
this would kill Copen for sure; and at worst, it would
incapacitate Copen for at least 2 years. This means that
despite Copen being able to resist below absolute zero ice
and Molecular Matter Manipulation normally, Zero's superior
atomic scale means it is still a perfectly valid winning condition
too. It should also be mentioned that even Classic Era robots
like Cold Man could freeze DNA at absolute zero temperatures,
so just imagine how much more superior an ice ability from a
Zero era Reploid is. Funnily enough, Zero’s
electricity manipulation also goes beyond Copen’s resistances
as the Thunder Chip obtained from Panter Flauclaws,
whose electricity packs a potency of 100 million volts,
which means it’s another valid option for Zero in his fight.
And with Zero's speed advantage, he's more than capable
of pulling these win conditions off.
Zero having multiple Spare Bodies and reviving abilities
means he can come back in the fight more times than
Copen's one time revival via Anthem, which is also
chance based meaning Anthem may not even work.
This means Zero has more chances to pull off his win
conditions than Copen since he has more “lives”, and
that's not even accounting for abilities that let him survive
fatal hits, which would make him even harder to put down.
Combine that with his superior layered Time Stop via Time
Stopper, which Copen cannot resist, and Zero has more\
opportunities to land a decisive blow than Copen does.
Tertiary Factors
Zero may not be as experienced as Copen but he is by far the
better fighter. Sure, Copen was trained by his super maid and
has fought Adepts for a hundred years, but Zero has fought in
literal wars. He was literally designed for combat, and has
shown great prowess while on the battlefield, bolstering
mastery with all weapons and skills after just receiving them,
even with amnesia. Zero’s skill is incredible even among Mega
Man characters, as he has shown capable of fighting hordes of
enemies for long periods of time with nothing helping him out.
Even Copy X has called Zero's combat skill “horrifying”, and that
guy has the data of the original X, who has participated in
multiple wars like Zero. And of course,
being a Mega Man character, he’s perfect at picking up patterns
and weaknesses of foes with numerous tricky powers.
This superior level of skill and battle IQ means he is more
likely to read Copen and adapt his strategy than the other
way around. Zero also has way better stamina feats than Copen,
being able to fight hordes of enemies for an entire year on end
before needing repairs whereas Copen fell over and almost died
from not even a full afternoon. This means Zero would win the war
of attrition should the fight last long. It is also important to mention
that should Zero decide to take out Lola, Copen would be forced
to multitask between managing his normal gear and the P-Bits,
which is not something you want to do against someone like Zero.
Copen
Stats
Starting off with stats, it’s pretty easy to see that Copen has
AP in the bag. Scaling to Jason Frudnick, who survived a
blast that would destroy a whole universe, gives him a level
of power that far exceeds anything Zero can reasonably scale
to in the X and Zero series, meaning any one hit from Copen
should end the Reploid. While there are ways you could
potentially squeeze Zero to match AP, the methods involved
are dubious for reasons explained in the BtV and Copen can
actually be given the same leeway by using non-canon feats
like the feat from Mighty Gunvolt Burst, which is arguably
similar to the Cyber Peacock manga feat. So it’s pretty safe to
say that Copen has AP by most reasonable metrics and it is far
easier to argue especially since LAiX2 is built around the
crossover and Copen’s BMZ2 DLC being canon to one another
and the Inti Creates verse. Speed wise, Copen scaling to Jason
gets him speeds ranging from 227 millions to 640 billions
times the speed of light. While it is possible for Zero to not only
match this level of speed but possibly surpass it, you could make
similar arguments for Copen as well, so he could keep up in the
speed department. And this is not considering that some in Team
Copen find the higher ends for Mega Man speed scaling to be
dubious for reasons such as taking gameplay mechanics at face
value and relying on making assumptions or old information that
may or may not hold up. But our overall point is: as long as speed
is relative, Copen can pretty safely land the one hit he needs to bea
t Zero. So while we argue speed might be similar, Copen’s superior
AP gives him the edge in stats.
Abilities and Arsenal
In terms of Arsenal and Abilities, it’s actually pretty surprising
to know that none of Copen’s weapons or EX Weapons
actually work on Zero. Not even something like Gorgon
Gaze or Cryo-Flash works because Zero just happens to
resist those abilities, making it difficult to utilize an alternative
win-condition aside from just one-shotting. Zero even has
several ways of bypassing Prevasion and various means of
reflecting, erasing or absorbing Copen’s arsenal. Just as
surprising however, very very few of Zero’s moves actually
work on Copen. Absolute Zero doesn’t work thanks to Copen’s
fight with Tenjian, whose ice manipulation has just as, if not
more impressive statements than Blizzack Stagroff such as
being explicitly stated as being ‘below Absolute Zero’ and
‘temperatures outside thermodynamics’. Trying to turn him
into a Mettaur or Energy Tank via Cyber Elves also doesn’t
work since the way Cyber Elves do it is in a similar fashion to
that of Teseo’s “Hack the World” Septima, which could not
affect Copen. Not to mention that Copen resists transmutation
anyway via Elise’ Rebirth which can turn people into zombies.
The only reliable things in Zero’s arsenal that we think would
work would be stopping time and heat based weapons.
There are arguments against Copen having these resistances,
but Team Copen does not agree with them thanks to the
Mother fight, where we know the Creator and Mother
probably went through a version of GV2 due to
Null, one of Creator’s creations, name dropping Eden.
But as mentioned before, if speed is relative then Zero would
very likely not get the chance to pull out any of his win-cons
no matter what the verdict is in Copen resisting his stuff. And
if Copen does manage to bite the dust, Lola’s Anthem would
bring him back to life to get the job done. Attacks like Twin
Shredder or CoLoSSaL Maelstrom can act as counterattacks
given in BMZ2 they act as Blast Counters that can be used
\ repeatedly before Zero does any action-based attack,
snuffing him out of any chance to pull out any win-cons. And
unlike Zero, Copen has access to both infinite healing and
infinite weapon energy, so he can always get back into
fighting shape whenever needed as well as staying on top
of the offensive. While miniscule, it certainly provides an
edge in the fight that Zero doesn’t have and it just pushes
him enough to say he could take abilities as well.
Tertiary Factors
Copen’s best advantage in this was the experience he had
fighting. While Zero may have been an important player in
several different points in his story, adding it all up doesn’t
quite reach the years of experience Copen has had fighting
as Zero was asleep for most of his 200 years while Copen was
wide awake for all of his 114 years. He’s fought for over 100
years against the forces of Sumeragi and he’s been fighting
some serious threats ever since the age of 14. Copen is pretty
smart too as not only did he analyze various Adepts so he
could fashion his own gear to fight against them, but he’s
pretty skilled in finding an enemy’s weakness and using it
against them when needed. Zero does have a feat
for matching Copen’s level of smarts, but it’s an outlier for
him as he does not usually display this level of intelligence.
Nevertheless, Copen holds some very important advantages
here.
